It’s March which means one thing, everyone feels strangely obligated to clean and redecorate. Instead of completely redoing a space, why not make a few small changes? Home decor can really affect your mood, decorating your space is a great way to shake off the last of those winter cobwebs and feel refreshed.
Flowers
This is a tried and true way to bring spring into your space. Flowers can not only add some colour, but depending on the variety, they can smell really nice. There’s just something about having fresh flowers inside. I would recommend either classic white flowers, or going for bright coloured flowers. Try to keep the colours cohesive (ex. all blue, or all yellow) to make the bouquet seem more planned and professionally designed.
Mirrors
Mirrors are prefect for spring. Not only do they reflect light to make your space brighter, but decorative mirrors can add some interest to a boring wall. I recommend making a small display in your bedroom with a mirror, some flowers and plants. Waking up every morning to see a custom spring mirror display can really brighten your mood. I would recommend a fancy wall mirror to add some glam, but if that’s not your speed, why not keep it simple with a smaller wooden mirror or black rimmed mirror?
Lighter Bedding
Adding some lighter bedding and throw blankets can really make a space lighter and more spring or summery. It’s time to put away all those winter throws (really Susan, why do you own three plaid throws?) and bring out the white cotton sheets and lighter blankets. A tip I can give you, when you put away your old bedding, fold in some dryer sheets so that they smell fresh until you pull them out again in the fall.
