If you’re design style tends to lean to a more classic barn house theme, here are some tips to help you create the perfect bathroom:
Reclaimed Wood
This goes without saying, but reclaimed wood is a staple for this style. Whether you create a custom door, go for a wood floor or have some wood accessories, this will instantly add a farmhouse look. Remember to treat your wood with a protective coating if it’s going to be getting wet though (this includes steam from the shower or bath).
Clawfoot Tub
This classic design choice has remained timeless for a reason. Having a fancy tub can really create a beautiful focal point for the space. I suggest going for a white tub to lighten up the room, as well as stay in fashion for a long time.
Large Deep Sink
When I think of a barn or farmhouse style interior, I picture a large white sink. I see a lot of deep rectangles online and agree this fit this interior design style to a t. In terms of faucets, stick to simple metallic which won’t go out of style soon.
Wood Framed Mirror
Having a large custom wood framed mirror is the perfect choice for a farmhouse bathroom. Instead of going for two smaller, mirrors, I recommend using one lane wood framed mirror over your vanity. Farmhouse sinks and vanities tend to be large and deep, so having a bigger mirror will offset this perfectly. When hanging a wall mirror, be sure to account for the wood frame weight (studs are ideal).
White Walls (Or Other Elements)
With all of the wood, I recommend painting your walls white, or off white to balance the darkness from all the wood. You can also add white towels, a white shower curtain or white boxes to organize. Just try to keep the space light and not too weighed down by all the vintage farmhouse wood and metal.
