Tape X On Glass
Using packing tape, tape a large x shape on the glass so that if the mirror breaks in transport, it won’t shatter and make a big mess.
Mirror Box
Having a properly sized and well constructed box is the foundation of packing a mirror. Try for a thick cardboard box that is a little bigger than your mirror.
Padding Your Mirror
You can use bubble wrap or packing paper to cushion your framed or frameless mirror. Make sure to use lots of packing tape to keep the padding from slipping off during transport. Tape up all the sides and around the mirror fully. For extra protection, add more packing paper to the edges of the mirror and tape in place.
Securing the Box
Once your mirror is well wrapped and taped up, you can place it into the box. If you’re packing a round mirror and there are large gaps in your box, fill up the space with more packing paper, newspaper or bubble wrap. This will keep the round mirror from moving around during the move (and minimize chances of a break). Finally make sure to tape up your box well, reinforcing the bottom with extra packing tape.
