Placement
Mirrors don’t have to only be hung above a sink in a bathroom. Consider new fun places to style the mirror like on a console table in a living room. Mirrors reflect light, so place one in a darker room with less natural light to instantly brighten the space.
Size
As a general rule, keep the mirror around 2/3 the size of the furniture it’s above. Don’t be afraid to go larger on your mirror and make a statement. You can also use full length or oversized mirrors in hallways to give the illusion the space is larger than it is. The next tip is to stagger heights. Don’t hang or place your mirror beside objects the same height as the mirror. This will look odd and stale, so try to add a light fixture, a plant or some smaller decor items to balance it out.
Style
With modern technologies, you can find the perfect mirror for any interior. The most important question to ask is whether this mirror is meant to blend in or become a focal point. If you want it to be a more subtle addition to the room, opt for a more simple style such as a medium round mirror or a thinner rectangle wood frame. For a bold eye catching look, hang a textured metallic frame or a large baroque style mirror.
